European SIM Model / EU Regional Lock

What is EU Regional Lock

Commencing from September 2013, Samsung have implemented a 'Region Lock' on all new smartphone stocks. KICKmobiles® only have access to the European Sim Model with EU Regional Lock. The compatible countries are all member states of the E.E.A and these additional territories : Albania, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (F.Y.R.O.M), Monaco, Montenegro, San Marino, Serbia and Vatican City.

For correct operation, at the very first use, this handset should be activated with a network sim card issued from one of these countries. Activation requires turning the device on for the first time and completing set-up with the simcard installed, then completing at least 5 minutes of voice call(s) with that sim. This process will automatically remove the EU Regional Lock from the device and user is then able to use the device with any region compatible network simcard/s.

Order Delivery Destination

If within a member states of the E.E.A and the above additional territories : KICKmobiles® will ship the product as sealed boxed unit, requiring customer to follow the first time activation process, as recommended above.

If outside a member states of the E.E.A and the above additional territories : KICKmobiles® will open the box and activate the unit with a UK network simcard as explained above, in order to remove the EU Regional Lock. Hence, the retail box will arrive to you as an opened box with first time activation done. These customers can then insert their compatible local network simcard and use the device as factory unlocked unit as normal.
